About the trek

Travelers need a total of six days including eight days of driving to finish the 48 km trek leading to Gaumukh Tapovan in Uttarakhand. The trek ascends through Uttarakhand territory before terminating at Gangotri where Hindu faithfuls make pilgrimages. Tourists visit this trek location to admire the spectacular views of Mount Meru and Mount Shivling and the Bhagirathi peaks from its challenging climb.

Temperature

Winter

The daily temperatures remain cold enough to tolerate yet nighttime temperatures reach freezing levels (0 to -2 degrees Celsius). Multiple facilities cease operations during winter since temperatures remain too low.

Summer

The climate of Duhok province exists between -2 Degrees Celsius and -10 Degrees Celsius. People can endure the daytime climate because it remains acceptable in this region. The temperature, on the other hand, dips slightly at night.

Monsoon

The temperature around 15 degrees Celsius during the monsoon.

Day 01 :

Dehradun to Gangotri

The starting destination for your journey will be Dehradun which then leads to Gangnani as your transportation continues. The water springs at Gangnani are famous as a regional attraction. At your arrival go to the Guesthouse to complete your accommodation before the rest of the night settles in.

Day 02 :

Gangotri to Chirbasa

On the second day, you have to begin your trek from Gangotri to Chirbasa
You will be trekking along the beautiful Bhagirathi river.
You will be trekking on the beaten trail to Chirbasa, which is present on the tree line.
Upon reaching, set up the tents, and spend the rest of your night relaxing and recovering from the exhausting trek.

Day 03 :

Chirbasa to Bhojwasa

The trail becomes increasingly barren after Chirbasa.
Visitors experience forest treks while traveling from Bhojwassa to the destination on the third trip day.
Bhojbasa campsites include a temple in the vicinity.
Your inaugural stop allows you to wander at will throughout the surrounding environment. The sunset provides a beautiful sight to see from this location.

Day 04 :

Bhojwasa to Gaumukh & Tapovan

Tourists should rise early to view stunning dawn views accompanied by Bhagirathi peaks.
After morning meal you will follow Goumukh trail.
You need to bring at least 2 liters of water with you because there are no available water resources during the trek.
The first destination of exploration completes before you continue walking to Tapovan. From your starting point you will come across high-altitude alpine meadows.
When you will be trekking from Goumukh to Tapovan, you might experience a steep ascent which would be the toughest part of the entire trek.
When you get to Goumukh, you will be able to take in the natural splendor.
Spend some time there admiring the view, and then head towards Tapovan and spend the night there.
On the fifth day, you will rest and explore the surrounding area after a long and tiring trek to Tapovan.
The campground rests in an enchanting position that offers unhindered sightlines to Mount Shivling along with Meru and Manda and the Bhagirathi peaks and Karchakund and Kedar Dome and many other noticeable formations.
The highest elevation during our trek belongs to the destination known as Tapovan.
